From the hills of Nara, the birthplace of Japanese tea art, comes this Chasen Kurotake Ōaraho , handcrafted in the legendary Suikaen workshop, renowned for preserving the purest techniques of the chanoyu tradition. Made from mature black bamboo ( kurotake ), this dark and elegant whisk is ideal for preparing Koicha , the thick matcha reserved for the most formal ceremonies.
The Ōaraho style is characterized by its thick, sparsely packed strands, specifically designed to blend the high concentration of tea powder into the Koicha without breaking its integrity or altering its dense, creamy texture. This whisk is the result of decades of artisanal perfection, where every curve, every strand, and every cut is designed to honor the balance of beauty, functionality, and spirituality.

Essential care:
Before each use, moisten the whisk in warm water to soften its strands. Clean it with water only and air dry. It's recommended to store it on a kusenaoshi to preserve its traditional shape.
It's not just a whisk. It's an extension of the ceremony.
